It acts as a dual antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor (H1R) and the histamine H4 receptor (H4R). While traditional antihistamines primarily target H1R to manage acute symptoms like itching and redness, the inclusion of H4R antagonism allows GD134 to also address the underlying inflammatory processes and immune cell recruitment associated with the late-phase allergic response.
