GD2 SIR-T is an investigational Synthetic Immune Receptor T-cell (SIR-T) therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics for the treatment of GD2-expressing solid tumors, such as neuroblastoma and osteosarcoma. Unlike traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cells that utilize a simplified signaling domain (typically CD3-zeta), the SIR-T platform engineers T-cells to express a synthetic receptor that integrates with the natural T-cell receptor (TCR) complex. This approach is intended to mimic physiological T-cell activation more closely, potentially leading to improved persistence, reduced exhaustion, and enhanced anti-tumor activity in the immunosuppressive microenvironment of solid tumors. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
