GD48

GD48 is a preclinical small molecule antagonist of the histamine H4 receptor (H4R) being developed by Griffin Discoveries. The histamine H4 receptor is a G protein-coupled receptor predominantly expressed on immune cells such as mast cells, eosinophils, and T cells, where it plays a critical role in mediating chemotaxis and the production of inflammatory cytokines. By selectively blocking H4R signaling, GD48 is intended to suppress the chronic inflammation and subsequent joint damage associated with rheumatoid arthritis. As a targeted therapy, it represents a novel approach to managing autoimmune conditions by modulating the histamine-mediated inflammatory axis.
