Overview

GDA-601 is an investigational, nicotinamide-enabled, genetically engineered natural killer (NK) cell therapy designed for multiple myeloma that combines CRISPR/Cas9 knockout of CD38 to prevent NK cell fratricide with an anti-CD38 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) to enhance recognition and killing of CD38-positive myeloma cells. Preclinical data show reduced CD38-mediated fratricide, increased degranulation (CD107a), and elevated proinflammatory cytokines with enhanced cytotoxicity against multiple myeloma cell lines; the program is being advanced in collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The platform uses Gamida Cell’s NAM expansion to improve NK cell functionality, including cytotoxicity, resistance to exhaustion, oxidative stress protection, and homing properties.
