Overview

GDC-1261 is an investigational bispecific monoclonal antibody developed by Genentech (a member of the Roche Group) for the treatment of advanced or metastatic prostate cancer. It is designed as a T-cell engager that simultaneously binds to Kallikrein-related peptidase 2 (KLK2), a protein highly and specifically expressed in prostate tissue and prostate cancer cells, and the CD3 subunit of the T-cell receptor complex. By bridging T cells to KLK2-expressing cancer cells, GDC-1261 facilitates T-cell activation and the subsequent directed cytotoxic killing of the tumor cells. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to determine its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary activity in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
