Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GE-287 is an investigational, newly developed formulation of flutemetamol F 18 injection (Vizamyl), a fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical diagnostic agent. Developed by GE HealthCare, GE-287 is designed for positron emission tomography (PET) brain imaging to estimate amyloid-beta neuritic plaque density in patients with cognitive impairment or suspected Alzheimer's disease. The new formulation is engineered to improve patient tolerability and enhance manufacturing reliability and production efficiency compared to the original Vizamyl formulation. GE-287 is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials to compare its biodistribution, safety, and diagnostic performance with the approved Vizamyl formulation.
