Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of gefitinib (an EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor), gemcitabine (a nucleoside analog), and nab-paclitaxel (an albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel). This combination has been studied for the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in patients with both cancers. The regimen works through multiple mechanisms: gefitinib inhibits EGFR signaling, gemcitabine disrupts DNA synthesis, and nab-paclitaxel interferes with microtubule function during cell division.
