Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gehu Tiaozhi Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Longhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of metabolic syndrome. The name is derived from its primary components, *Pueraria lobata* (Gegen) and *Dendrobium* (Shihu), which are traditionally used to clear heat and promote fluid production. The decoction is designed to regulate lipid metabolism, improve insulin resistance, and reduce waist circumference in patients exhibiting metabolic disorders. It has been evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy and safety compared to placebo in managing the cluster of conditions that define metabolic syndrome.
