Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Gelaspan** is a B. Braun intravenous colloid plasma-volume replacement product containing 4% succinylated gelatin in a plasma-adapted, balanced isotonic electrolyte solution containing sodium chloride, sodium acetate, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, and magnesium chloride. The gelatin colloid increases intravascular oncotic pressure and transiently expands plasma volume, while the electrolyte composition supports replacement of extracellular fluid and electrolytes. It is authorized in multiple markets for prophylaxis and treatment of relative or absolute hypovolemia, shock, and perioperative hypotension associated with blood or fluid loss.
