Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Geliofil is a vaginal gel developed by Effik designed to restore and maintain the natural balance of the vaginal flora. It contains two primary active components: lactic acid and glycogen. Lactic acid works to immediately restore the physiological vaginal pH (acidification), creating an environment unfavorable for the growth of pathogenic bacteria. Glycogen serves as a nutrient source for beneficial lactobacilli, promoting their growth and the re-establishment of a healthy vaginal ecosystem. It is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of symptoms associated with bacterial vaginosis, such as unpleasant odors, abnormal discharge, and general intimate discomfort.
