Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GelSure is a thermo-reversible hydrogel platform developed by GelSURE LLC, primarily utilized as a submucosal injection agent for gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures. Composed of Poloxamer 407, the gel exhibits a unique phase-transition property, remaining a low-viscosity liquid at room temperature for easy injection and transforming into a high-viscosity, stable gel at body temperature. This transition creates a durable submucosal cushion or "lift" that separates mucosal lesions, such as polyps or early-stage cancers, from the underlying muscularis propria, facilitating safer and more effective endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) or endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Beyond its mechanical use in endoscopy, the GelSure technology is being leveraged as a nasal barrier gel to physically block pathogens and allergens, and as a sustained-release delivery vehicle for pharmaceuticals, including local anesthetics like lidocaine for post-operative pain management.
