Gemcitabine + carboplatin + Endostar is a three-drug combination regimen used primarily in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Gemcitabine and carboplatin are cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents that inhibit DNA synthesis and induce apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Gemcitabine is an antimetabolite, while carboplatin is a platinum-based alkylating agent. Endostar, also known as recombinant human endostatin or rh-endostatin, is an antiangiogenic biologic that inhibits tumor angiogenesis by blocking vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) pathways and suppressing endothelial cell proliferation. The combination aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by targeting both tumor cells directly and their supporting vasculature. Clinical studies have shown improved disease control rates and progression-free survival with this regimen compared to chemotherapy alone, particularly in NSCLC patients[2][3].
