Overview

Gemcitabine + nedaplatin is a chemotherapeutic combination regimen consisting of gemcitabine, a nucleoside metabolic inhibitor, and nedaplatin, a platinum-based agent. Gemcitabine works as a prodrug that is transformed into active metabolites that replace building blocks of nucleic acids during DNA elongation, arresting tumor growth and promoting apoptosis of malignant cells. This combination has shown efficacy in treating various types of cancer, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
