Overview

A triplet combination therapy consisting of gemcitabine (a nucleoside analog chemotherapy agent), trastuzumab (a monoclonal antibody targeting HER2), and erlotinib (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting EGFR). This combination has been studied in clinical trials for the treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer, showing effectiveness in terms of disease control rate, progression-free survival, and overall survival. The combination works through multiple mechanisms: gemcitabine interferes with DNA synthesis, trastuzumab targets HER2-expressing cancer cells, and erlotinib blocks EGFR signaling.
