Gemtuzumab ozogamicin + cytarabine is a combination therapy used in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), particularly in relapsed, refractory, or newly diagnosed cases with favorable or intermediate risk. **Gemtuzumab ozogamicin** is an antibody-drug conjugate that targets CD33-positive leukemia cells using a humanized monoclonal antibody linked to the cytotoxic agent calicheamicin, inducing DNA double-strand breaks and triggering apoptosis. **Cytarabine** is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis, primarily targeting rapidly dividing cells.
