Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GENESIS is a tissue-engineered artificial skin project led by Groupe URGO in partnership with the Établissement Français du Sang (EFS), Dassault Systèmes, LBTI, and AFM-Téléthon. The project focuses on developing laboratory-grown skin grafts to treat severe burns and complex wounds, aiming to provide a functional replacement for damaged skin and eliminate the need for autografts. The engineered skin is designed to mimic the biological properties of human skin and is applied surgically to the wound bed to facilitate healing and permanent closure. The project has received significant funding from the French government's Future Investment Programme and utilizes advanced bioproduction platforms for the creation of these experimental cell therapy medicines.
