Overview
Gengnianningxin granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Longhua Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of climacteric syndrome, also known as perimenopausal syndrome. The preparation is a hospital-made granule intended to alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, and emotional instability by modulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian (HPO) axis and regulating serum hormone levels, including estradiol (E2), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). It has been evaluated in multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials to establish its efficacy and safety as a non-hormonal alternative for managing menopausal transitions.
