Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GenHevac-B is a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine that contains pre-S2 and S antigens of the Hepatitis B virus. It is designed to stimulate the immune system to produce anti-HBs antibodies, thereby providing protection against Hepatitis B virus infection. The vaccine has been investigated for both prophylactic use in HIV-infected patients, where standard vaccination protocols are often less effective, and for therapeutic purposes in individuals with chronic Hepatitis B infection, including inactive HBsAg carriers and those in the immune tolerant phase of chronic HBV infection.
