Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Genixine is a veterinary injectable formulation of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug flunixin meglumine, used primarily in cattle, pigs, and horses to reduce pain, inflammation, and fever associated with respiratory disease and periparturient or reproductive disorders. As an NSAID, flunixin inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX), leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate inflammation, nociception, and pyrexia, thereby improving animal welfare and supporting recovery and productivity in livestock.[7][9][13][14]
