Overview

Genotropin MiniQuick is a single-use, prefilled delivery device containing a two-chamber cartridge of lyophilized recombinant human growth hormone (somatropin) for subcutaneous injection. Somatropin is a synthetic form of human growth hormone produced by recombinant DNA technology and has the same amino acid sequence as endogenous growth hormone. It stimulates linear bone growth and promotes the development of muscle and fat tissues in appropriate proportions. The mechanism of action involves binding to the growth hormone receptor, leading to increased production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), which mediates many anabolic and metabolic effects. Genotropin MiniQuick is indicated for pediatric patients with growth failure due to inadequate secretion of endogenous growth hormone, Turner syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome (with specific safety caveats), children born small for gestational age who fail to show catch-up by age 2 or later, idiopathic short stature, chronic renal insufficiency affecting growth, as well as adults with pronounced or persistent childhood-onset or adult-onset severe GH deficiency[1][5][7][8].
