Overview

GenSci122 is a small molecule inhibitor of KIF18A, a kinesin motor protein involved in mitotic spindle dynamics and cell division. It is being developed as an oral anti-cancer agent for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The drug was initially developed by Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceuticals (also referred to as Jinsai Pharmaceutical), and has received approval to begin clinical trials from both the NMPA in China and implied IND approval from the US FDA. As of early 2025, GenSci122 is in Phase 1 clinical trials for oncology indications, specifically targeting unspecified solid tumors. Its mechanism involves selective inhibition of KIF18A, which distinguishes it from other cell cycle or anti-mitotic agents[1][2][4][5].
