Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gensulin M30 is a premixed, biphasic suspension of recombinant human insulin containing 30% soluble (rapid-acting) and 70% isophane (intermediate-acting) insulin. It is produced using recombinant DNA technology in E. coli, resulting in an amino acid sequence identical to endogenous human insulin. The drug is indicated for the treatment of diabetes mellitus in patients requiring exogenous insulin to maintain glucose control, including gestational diabetes. Its mechanism of action involves binding to the insulin receptor on target cells (such as muscle and adipose tissue), promoting cellular uptake of glucose from the bloodstream and inhibiting hepatic glucose production. This dual-phase formulation provides both rapid onset and prolonged duration of glycemic control[1][3][6].
