Overview
Qinlongkusu Injection is a botanical-derived small molecule therapeutic developed by Shaanxi Xida Yonghe Technology Development for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and associated jaundice. The active pharmaceutical ingredient is gentiopicroside (also known as gentiopicrin), a secoiridoid glycoside primarily extracted from the roots of *Gentiana macrophylla* (Qin Jiao). Gentiopicroside exerts hepatoprotective effects by modulating inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), and inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway, thereby reducing hepatic inflammation and promoting the recovery of liver function. In clinical trials in China, it has been evaluated as a treatment for jaundice-type chronic hepatitis B, often compared against traditional therapies like Yinzhihuang Injection to assess its efficacy in reducing serum bilirubin levels and improving clinical symptoms.
