Overview

Gentulizumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets CD47, an immune checkpoint protein often overexpressed on cancer cells. By binding to CD47, gentulizumab blocks the "don't eat me" signal that protects tumor cells from phagocytosis by macrophages and other immune cells. This mechanism promotes the destruction of malignant cells by the innate immune system. Gentulizumab has demonstrated potent antitumor activity in preclinical models and is being investigated for hematological malignancies such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), and advanced solid tumors. The drug is under development by Changchun GeneScience Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., with clinical trials primarily conducted in China[2][3][4][6].
