Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Geologie Acne Regimen is a personalized topical skincare system developed for the treatment and management of acne vulgaris. The regimen primarily incorporates salicylic acid and retinol as its core active pharmaceutical ingredients. Salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), functions as a keratolytic agent by promoting the exfoliation of dead skin cells and clearing sebum from pores. Retinol, a vitamin A derivative, undergoes enzymatic conversion within the skin to retinoic acid, which subsequently binds to and activates retinoic acid receptors (RARs). This activation regulates gene expression to normalize follicular keratinization, increase cellular turnover, and reduce the formation of microcomedones. The system is designed to provide a comprehensive approach to acne by combining comedolytic, exfoliative, and anti-inflammatory properties through a multi-step daily routine.
