Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gepatrav is a multi-herb herbal hepatoprotective formulation developed by SPEY for the treatment and prevention of various liver disorders. Available in tablet and syrup forms, the formulation contains a complex of biologically active substances of vegetable origin, including *Phyllanthus niruri* (Bhumi aamalaki), *Picrorhiza kurroa* (Kutki), *Tinospora cordifolia* (Guduchi), *Emblica officinalis* (Amla), *Eclipta alba* (Bhringraj), *Aloe barbadensis* (Kumari), and other traditional Ayurvedic herbs. Gepatrav protects the liver from hepatotoxins, stimulates the regeneration of liver cells, normalizes protein-synthetic function, improves digestion, and exhibits membrane-stabilizing, antioxidant, and choleretic actions. It is indicated for acute and chronic infectious, toxic, and medicinal hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, fatty degeneration of the liver, liver cirrhosis, and as a prophylactic agent against drug-induced hepatotoxicity.
