Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gerdoff is a Class 3 CE-marked medical device developed by SOFAR S.p.A. for the symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is a fixed-dose combination of hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulfate, and aluminum hydroxide, formulated as orodispersible tablets. The product exerts its effect through a mechanical barrier mechanism, adhering to the esophageal mucosa to provide protection against gastric fluids while stimulating salivation and mucus secretion. It is used to alleviate symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and epigastric pain, particularly in patients refractory to alginate therapy or as an adjunct to proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
