Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gerilimzumab is a recombinant humanized IgG1λ monoclonal antibody that targets and neutralizes interleukin-6 (IL-6), a pro-inflammatory cytokine implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer. Developed using the SIMPLE Antibody™ platform by argenx and further enhanced with NHance® technology to prolong circulation time and improve tissue distribution, gerilimzumab was designed for low-frequency subcutaneous dosing. It has demonstrated favorable safety, pharmacokinetics (long half-life), low immunogenicity in healthy volunteers, and dose-dependent increases in serum IL-6 levels. The drug was developed collaboratively by argenx, Bird Rock Bio (formerly RuiYi), and Genor Biopharma for indications including rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune disorders, inflammation-related conditions, and certain cancers[1][4][5][7].
