Drug intelligence / Profile preview
German cockroach skin prick solution is an allergen extract developed by Zhejiang Wolwo Bio-Pharmaceutical for the in vivo diagnosis of Type I hypersensitivity to *Blattella germanica*. It is used in skin prick testing to identify sensitization in patients with suspected allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, or other allergic diseases. The solution contains standardized or concentrated proteins extracted from the German cockroach. When introduced into the skin, these allergens cross-link specific IgE antibodies on the surface of mast cells, triggering the release of inflammatory mediators like histamine. This process results in a localized wheal-and-flare reaction, which serves as a diagnostic indicator of allergic sensitization.
