GF-1002 is an investigational gene therapy developed by Genflow Biosciences. It consists of a recombinant self-complementary adeno-associated viral (AAV) vector designed for intravenous infusion. The therapy delivers a transgene encoding a centenarian variant of the human SIRT6 gene, which is associated with enhanced DNA maintenance and longevity observed in centenarians. The mechanism aims to improve cellular resilience and slow aging processes by increasing expression of this beneficial SIRT6 variant without integrating into host DNA or causing self-replication. GF-1002 is being developed primarily for age-related diseases, with its lead indication being nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), where it seeks to reverse fibrotic liver damage and restore normal liver function. Preclinical studies have shown promising results, and clinical trials are planned or underway in both veterinary (aged dogs) and human populations[1][2][4][5][7][8].
