Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GF-1006 is an mRNA-based therapeutic candidate being developed by GenFlow Biosciences for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The drug utilizes lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology to deliver mRNA encoding a specific centenarian variant of the Sirtuin 6 (SIRT6) protein. SIRT6 is a key regulator of genomic stability, DNA repair, and longevity; the centenarian variant is associated with exceptional lifespan and enhanced cellular maintenance. By expressing this variant in target ocular tissues, GF-1006 is designed to boost SIRT6 activity, thereby counteracting the oxidative stress and cellular senescence that drive the progression of AMD.
