GFS202A

GFS202A is a first-in-class clinical-stage bispecific antibody that targets both growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Developed by GenFleet Therapeutics, it is designed to treat cachexia and pre-cachexia, particularly in cancer patients. The drug works by binding with high affinity and specificity to human GDF15 and IL-6, potently inhibiting their downstream signaling pathways. Preclinical studies have shown that GFS202A can reverse weight loss in tumor-induced cachectic models at low doses, increasing body weight, lean mass, and adipose tissue while effectively suppressing inflammatory responses. It has demonstrated favorable safety/tolerability profiles in primate toxicology studies. As of June 2025, it is undergoing phase I clinical trials for cancer-associated cachexia in China[2][3][5][7].
