Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**GGEx18** is a Korean polyherbal anti-obesity preparation, also called Gyeongshingangjeehwan 18, composed of extracts derived from *Ephedra sinica*, *Laminaria japonica*, and *Rheum palmatum*. It has been evaluated in high-fat-diet mouse models for obesity and associated metabolic dysfunction, including insulin resistance, hepatic steatosis, pancreatic steatosis, dyslipidemia, and glucose intolerance. Preclinical studies indicate that it reduces adiposity and lipid accumulation while increasing fatty-acid-oxidation programs associated with AMP-activated protein kinase and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha signaling.
