Overview

GHB16L2 is a trivalent, replication-deficient influenza vaccine candidate developed for intranasal administration. It was designed to provide immunization against seasonal influenza virus infection. The vaccine utilizes a live attenuated influenza virus platform with deletion of the non-structural protein 1 (NS1), which is intended to enhance safety and immunogenicity by preventing viral evasion of host immune responses. GHB16L2 was evaluated in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase I/II clinical trial in healthy adults to assess its safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and pharmacokinetics (viral shedding). The developer is Avir Green Hills Biotechnology AG[7][2].
