Overview

GHRH receptor siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the growth hormone-releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR). In preclinical research, particularly in endometrial cancer models, it serves as a molecular tool to elucidate the signaling pathways of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) and its antagonists. By specifically knocking down the GHRH receptor, researchers have demonstrated that the inhibitory effects of GHRH antagonists on cancer cell motility and the expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers, such as Twist and N-Cadherin, are mediated through this receptor. This knockdown approach is essential for validating that the observed therapeutic effects of GHRH-targeted compounds are indeed dependent on the presence and activity of the GHRH receptor.
