GI-6207 is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed to target cancers that overexpress carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a protein found at high levels in several epithelial cancers, including non-small cell lung, colorectal, pancreatic, breast, gastric, and medullary thyroid cancers. The drug consists of whole, heat-killed recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast genetically engineered to express a modified version of the human CEA protein as the target antigen. By presenting this antigen to the immune system, GI-6207 is designed to stimulate T lymphocyte responses specifically against CEA-expressing tumor cells while sparing normal tissues where CEA expression is minimal or absent. Clinical studies have shown that administration of GI-6207 can induce antigen-specific CD8+ and CD4+ T cell responses and may stabilize disease in some patients with metastatic cancer. The drug was originally developed by GlobeImmune and has also been associated with ImmunityBio as a developer[1][3][4][5][6][7].
