Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GI-6301 is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed to stimulate the immune system to target and kill tumor cells expressing the brachyury protein. It consists of heat-inactivated Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast engineered to express human brachyury. The mechanism of action involves inducing T cell-mediated immunity against tumors that overexpress brachyury, which is commonly found in chordoma and some other cancers. GI-6301 has been evaluated in clinical trials for advanced chordoma and other solid tumors, showing good tolerability with mild injection site reactions and flu-like symptoms as common adverse events[2][4][5].
