Overview

GI001 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting the CD19 antigen, developed by Ruijin Hospital. It is designed for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory (r/r) CD19-positive B-cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (B-NHL) or B-cell Leukemia. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes and binds to CD19 on the surface of malignant B cells, leading to T-cell activation and subsequent tumor cell lysis. GI001 is currently being evaluated in exploratory Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (including CAR-T cell expansion and persistence), and preliminary efficacy. Clinical monitoring focuses on identifying dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs) and managing common CAR-T associated adverse events such as Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS) and Immune Effector Cell-Associated Neurotoxicity Syndrome (ICANS).
