GIM-122 is a first-in-class, humanized immunoglobulin G1 kappa (IgG1K) dual-functioning monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by targeting and blocking the Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), thereby preventing cancer cells from evading immune detection. In addition to inhibiting PD-1, GIM-122 stimulates activated T cells in a novel manner to enhance anti-tumor immunity. The drug is being developed by Georgiamune and is currently in phase 1/2 clinical trials for patients with advanced or metastatic solid malignancies who have failed prior checkpoint inhibitor therapy[1][3][4][6][7].
