GIM-407 is a first-in-class, orally administered small molecule drug developed as a selective activator of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Regulatory T cells are critical for maintaining immune self-tolerance and preventing autoimmune diseases. By enhancing both the quantity and function of Tregs, GIM-407 aims to restore immune balance in patients with autoimmune disorders. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials, initially being tested in healthy volunteers to evaluate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and biomarker activity. The results from these studies will inform the selection of specific autoimmune diseases for future clinical development.
