Gimapritide

Gimapritide (ZKGZ002) is a synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist being developed by Lee's Pharmaceutical (specifically its subsidiary Zhaoke Pharmaceutical) for cardiovascular indications, primarily acute myocardial infarction (AMI). As a GLP-1 analogue, it mimics the action of endogenous GLP-1, which has been shown to possess potent cardioprotective properties beyond its metabolic effects. In the context of AMI, Gimapritide is intended to reduce myocardial damage and infarct size while improving overall cardiac function following ischemia-reperfusion injury. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 2 clinical evaluation to determine its efficacy and safety profile in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
