GINAKIT Cells are an **autologous cell therapy product** consisting of natural killer T (NKT) cells genetically modified to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that targets the GD2 antigen, which is overexpressed on neuroblastoma cells. These cells are further engineered to express **Interleukin-15 (IL-15)** to enhance cell proliferation and persistence, and the CAR includes a **CD28** costimulatory domain to improve activation and survival. GINAKIT Cells are developed for the treatment of **high-risk neuroblastoma**, particularly in pediatric and young adult patients, with clinical development led by Baylor College of Medicine and the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy. The combination of GD2-targeting, IL-15-induced persistence, and NKT cell-mediated activity is intended for superior tumor infiltration, cytotoxicity against tumor cells and associated macrophages, and improved antitumor efficacy. Clinical trials have focused on evaluating safety, optimal dosing, and antitumor activity, with reported good tolerance and evidence of tumor response in early-phase studies[1][2][3][5][7].
