Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is an investigational cell therapy developed by Hebei Medical University for the treatment of chronic adult periodontitis. The therapy utilizes gingiva mesenchymal stem cells (GMSCs), which are multipotent adult stem cells isolated from gingival tissue. These cells are seeded onto collagen scaffolds and surgically applied to periodontal defects to promote alveolar bone regeneration and periodontal tissue repair. GMSCs are characterized by their capacity for multilineage differentiation (including osteogenic potential) and immunomodulatory properties, making them a promising candidate for functional periodontal regeneration in cases where conventional treatments like open flap debridement show insufficient results.
