Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This cell-based regenerative therapy, developed by Hebei Medical University, consists of autologous gingiva mesenchymal stem cells (GMSCs) seeded onto collagen scaffolds for the treatment of chronic periodontitis. GMSCs are multipotent mesenchymal stem cells isolated from the patient's own gingival tissue, possessing the ability to differentiate into various cell types and exert immunomodulatory effects. The collagen scaffold serves as a biocompatible carrier and structural matrix for the cells. The therapy is administered locally into periodontal defects following open flap debridement surgery, aiming to stimulate the regeneration of lost periodontal tissues and alveolar bone.
