Overview

A combination product containing **standardized Ginkgo biloba extract** and **phosphatidylserine** (often derived from soy or sunflower lecithin). Complexation of Ginkgo biloba extract with phosphatidylserine is designed to enhance the bioavailability and cognitive effects of Ginkgo’s active constituents. Both ingredients are regarded for cognitive and memory support: - **Ginkgo biloba** is a plant extract with antioxidant properties, known to improve blood flow, promote vasodilation, and support neurotransmission, which may help with memory, focus, and overall cognitive function. - **Phosphatidylserine** is a naturally occurring phospholipid crucial for neuronal membrane structure and function. It supports signal transmission in the brain and has been shown to participate in cognitive health and neuroprotection. Taken together as a complex (such as in Virtiva or similar products), this combination has been shown in randomized controlled trials to acutely improve aspects of memory performance and the speed of memory tasks, potentially more so than either component alone. The mechanism is thought to involve synergistic effects on membrane health, neurotransmitter release, and increased cerebral blood flow[1][2][3][4][5]. - Mainly used as a dietary supplement for brain health, cognitive enhancement, memory support, and to support healthy aging.
