Overview

Ginkgo leaf capsule is a botanical drug product derived from the leaves of *Ginkgo biloba*, containing standardized extracts of flavonoids and terpenoids. Developed by Shanghai Xinyi Baileda Pharmaceutical, it is currently in Phase III clinical trials in China for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG), specifically targeting patients with the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pattern of blood stasis and collateral obstruction. The drug's therapeutic effects are attributed to its ability to improve ocular blood flow, provide neuroprotection to retinal ganglion cells, and act as an antioxidant and platelet-activating factor (PAF) antagonist.
