Ginkgo Leaf Dropping Pill (GBDP) is a Chinese patent medicine containing Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) as its active ingredient. [5] It is formulated as a dropping pill, a dosage form designed for rapid dissolution and absorption. [5] Developed by Wanbangde Pharmaceutical Group, it is approved in China for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. [5, 6, 12] Clinical studies are investigating its efficacy in managing cognitive impairment after brain injury, as well as in patients with coronary heart disease, stable angina pectoris, and depression. [5, 7, 9] The therapeutic effects are attributed to the complex mixture of bioactive compounds in GBE, including flavonoids and terpenoids.
