Ginseng-derived nanoparticles (GDNPs) are plant-derived nanovesicles, often characterized as exosome-like particles, extracted from *Panax ginseng*. Developed by researchers at The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, these nanoparticles are being evaluated for their dual therapeutic potential as radiosensitizers and radioprotectants in the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC). GDNPs are designed to enhance the efficacy of concurrent chemoradiotherapy by increasing the sensitivity of tumor cells to radiation while simultaneously protecting healthy tissues from radiation-induced injury. The underlying mechanism involves the modulation of metabolic profiles within the tumor microenvironment, a process currently being investigated through spatial metabolomics in elderly patient populations.
