Ginseng-Pueraria decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula being developed by the Department of Ophthalmology at Putuo Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is formulated as an oral decoction containing active botanical ingredients from ginseng and pueraria. The decoction is being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of grade II or III conjunctivochalasis in patients presenting with a TCM syndrome pattern of spleen and lung qi deficiency. It is designed to improve ocular surface and tear meniscus measures, alleviate symptoms, and offer a safe therapeutic alternative to standard treatments like sodium hyaluronate eye drops.
