Overview
Ginseng secondary glycosides H is a botanical drug candidate composed of rare ginsenosides derived from the transformation or hydrolysis of primary ginseng saponins. Developed by the West China Hospital of Sichuan University, it is formulated as dripping pills for oral administration. The drug is primarily investigated for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients exhibiting Qi deficiency syndrome, a classification in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Secondary ginsenosides, such as Rg3 and Rh2, are known to exhibit anti-tumor activities, including the inhibition of cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis, and anti-angiogenic effects. This specific preparation is being evaluated in clinical trials for patients who are not candidates for or decline standard anticancer therapies.
